Welcome to the Public UltraScan Database LIMS Portal!
This website provides public LIMS support for users of the UltraScan software.
What is a LIMS system?
LIMS stands for Laboratory Information Management System. It provides a software environment to assist with the management of AUC data for single users or entire facilities. It provides support for both the storage and the analysis of data, and offers a convenient web interface for retrieving experimental data, results and for submitting analysis requests to the supercomputer. After storing sedimentation results and associated data in the UltraScan LIMS, it can be shared with collaborators and retrieved through a browser. Seamless integration between the UltraScan LIMS and the UltraScan GUI software facilitates efficient use of the data. For users of UltraScan's 2-dimensional spectrum analysis and genetic algorithm analysis, we also offer access to high performance computing facilities available at UTHSCSA through this portal. Such services are made available on a first come, first serve basis, and may be restricted when excess computer capacity is not available. You will need to contact the facility director to obtain all necessary passwords to use these services.
The UltraScan Public LIMS is offered to users of the UltraScan software to provide public database access and supercomputer access. The Biochemistry Department at the University of Texas Health Science Center offers access to this resource through the Bioinformatics Core Facility (BCF) and the Center for Analytical Ultracentrifugation of Macromolecular Assemblies (CAUMA). Any institution can apply for a LIMS account and obtain a private database for AUC data storage and obtain the ability to analyze experiments through the supercomputer web portal.
